chess seniors graduating UTDFriday, April 17th, I attended the last UTD Chess Club meeting of the semester. I will miss the graduating seniors, pictured in this photo.  Back row (left to right): IM John Bartholomew, FM Keaton Kiewra, IM Davorin Kuljasevic, IM Marko Zivanic

Front row (left to right) GM Alejandro Ramirez, WFM Lilia Doibani. All of them (except Kuljasevic) were students in my online classes. Marko Zivanic will be around next year, though,

as a Computer Science graduate student and assistant coach. He was also the winner of the Steven Grubbs memorial award and scholarship. On Facebook, I have photos of the award being presented by UTD Chess Program Director Jim Stallings.           Another senior with graduate school plans is Lilia Doibani, who will matriculate at the Texas Tech law school this fall. The other seniors have important interviews this month, so I don't want to jinx their luck by writing about those here. 

          WFM Bayaraa Zorigt won re-election as chess club historian, in large part because of her work on the chess club archives. Now clippings and memos from the first 13 years of the chess program are organized systematically in notebooks and will be available as scans online by next year. I have photos of chess club members looking at the archives on my Facebook page.

Buying new computer from craigslist?

Okay, long story short, my CPU went on a few nights ago. I tried to reboot it several times but it won't come on. I was working on a story on my computer and I had some every important stuff on the computer which I don't have access to now thanks to the problem. I tried to investigate and I also tried taking the dust out of it but it's still not working. I even tried looking at some of the wires and the plugs but it's still not working. I believe it's one of the fans because the light on the back would go on but when i press the power-on button, the fan would only run for a second and the light on the back would go out. Solutions?

Hey guys, I'm having a serious problem with my internet connection. I keep losing internet connection and I have absolutely no idea why. My internet connection will be fine for a few minutes, but will just randomly turn off. My router box will either display the internet with a Red Light, or no light at all. Most of the time its just no light at all. I've tried replacing the Ethernet and restarting my router box, but its all been to no avail. Does anyone have any idea why its doing this, and how might I be able to fix it? BTW I'm using a DSL Router.

Ive seen all these websites that say you can get them free, by doing some simple things, so i was wondering if anyone has done a website that has given them one, or any site legit, that will work. Please help! Thanks!!! P.S. If you know a site please post it, and some help would be lovely!
