Written by Alexey W. Root on Sat, Jul 30 2016 (16:59)

Dr. Alexey Root gave a simultaneous exhibition (a "simul") at the Denton Public Library, North Branch, Saturday at 2 p.m. Ten players initially faced Dr. Root. After some lost, a total of 18 players participated. Dr. Root won 20 games, as two players played (and lost) twice. She had no draws and no losses. Dr. Root donated one copy of Prepare With Chess Strategy to the Denton Public Library and sold three books to the public. Her toughest game was against a seven-year-old girl. Thanks to Kerol Harrod, librarian, and the Denton Public Library for hosting this event.  45 people came to the event, as there were spectators and family members along with the chess players. The last game finished at about 3:30 p.m., so 1.5 hours for 20 games.
