My presentation “Teaching Social Studies with Chess” is scheduled for Friday, October 26, 2012, 1:30p.m. to 2:45p.m. at the annual conference for the Texas Council For the Social Studies. I will feature lesson plans from my book People, Places, Checkmates: Teaching Social Studies with Chess. The conference is in Irving, Texas. Then on Friday, November 2, 2012 I will be signing books at the Barnes & Noble in Lewisville, Texas. That free event is from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and features members of the Denton High School chess club playing against the public. |
And for the chess-player the success which crowns his work, the great dispeller of sorrows, is named "combination."
