|British Land UK Chess Challenge Terafinal Regulations|
Qualification for the 4th stage of the Chess Challenge, the TERAFINAL is as follows:
(a) winning the title of Ultimo or Ultima in any of the 66 sections from U7 to U18. There can be no tied first places. Ties will be broken by SUM OF PROGRESSIVE SCORES and if this fails by a 10 minute play-off. If this is drawn then a 5 minute play-off will take place. If this is drawn the title will be awarded by lot. In the event of ties, the prize money will be shared.
Qualification for the 4th stage of the Chess Challenge, the CHALLENGERS is as follows :
(b) Coming 2nd or 3rd in any of the 66 sections. If there is a tie for 2nd place then all tied players will qualify for invitation to the Challengers. If there is one player in 2nd place, then tied players in equal 3rd place will qualify for invitation to the Challengers. Please note that
Sum of Opponents’ scores are NOT used in this tournament. Merged sections.
Each age group in a merged section produces one Ultimo and one Ultima (the highest scoring player in that age group). Players coming 2nd or 3rd or tying for those places, are
invited to the Challengers in each age group.
Q HOW DO I GET MY ENTRY FORM FOR THE TERAFINAL?
A. If you qualify for a place in the Terafinal/Challengers, you will receive your entry form in the post towards the end of July.
There will be an entry fee of £9 to the Terafinal/Challengers.
