CHESS FOR PEACE by Abbey Emmanuel Alo of Ghana PDF Print E-mail

We thank Abbey Emmanuel Alo of Ghana, who sent us this letter, which we publish in its original form.

In reality the greatest pursuit of man is "peace"- the harmony of the universe. Peace is the absence of storm but it is also surprising that even in the presence of a raging storm the human soul can find peace in its very eye. This is where we all desire to live forever and the Comparative Human Enlightenment Strategised Systematically (CHESS) for peace is the road-map to the greatest dream of humanity. And this CHESS is our cultural, ecumenical, demographical, geographical, racial and ideological differences that cannot be taken from us and at their best are impossible to deny, this reality is what makes our world amusing and dreadful at the same time. It is a troubled soul that would learn how to destroy, but not to create; how to waste, but not to build; how to kill men, but not how to save them; how to die, but seldom how to live. Such human generation is a curse to the universe, but we have come to a point in time that sometimes our ignorance about our need of one another destroy the world system (how we live) and the earth (where we live- our home).

"Peace can only last where human rights are respected, where the people are fed, and where individuals and nations are free." - Dalai Lama.

We look forward to the time when the Power of Love will replace the Love of Power, then will our world know the blessings of peace. And now is the time to turn inward and find peace within ourselves, so that we become the kind of people who can live in peace with others and when the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace. If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.

Similarly, “it isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it."-Eleanor Roosevelt.

And as we open this game of Comparative Human Enlightenment Strategic System (CHESS), who is the gentleman with the greatest law, who is the player with the best "ethics"? Who is that good man with the highest morale, it is a CHESS player with the deepest logic and makes his move with a peaceful heart.

Chess Quotes

And for the chess-player the success which crowns his work, the great dispeller of sorrows, is named "combination."
