Summer Chess Fest   Free outdoor events for all ages, all levels of chess experience. Spectators welcome.

July 20  3:00 pm to 9:30 pm Outdoor events - Including Bullet Chess, Blindfold Chess, Seirawan  Chess, Twilight Blitz, Drawing contest, Treasure Hunt and more. Details and times TBA. Check this website for updates.

July 20  Whale Watching tour 9:00 am to 12 noon   http://www.orcaspirit.com/  Join Hikaru Nakamura, other junior chess players and their families for a morning of whale watching and ocean touring.  A special rate has been arranged for CYCC players and familes.

 

July 18 and July 25 (Saturday morning)  9:30 -11:30 Willows Beach casual chess  Twoonie Tournament  Take the #11 Bus from dowtown to Willows Beach for outdoor chess in a spectacular setting.  Ask the bus driver where to get off (Dalhousie St).

 

 

Tour of the Legislature Building (tours start every hour, are free admission and take place Mon-Thursday 9am -5pm  Friday Saturday 9am - 7pm

Art Gallery of Greater Victoria Moss Street Paint In (July 18)

Location(s): 1040 Moss Street and Moss Street from Fort Street to Dallas Road

This popular free annual community event showcases the talents of Victoria's artists and the techniques that they employ. Up to 100 artists line the boulevards of Moss Street from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. The Food and Beverage Garden, featuring entertainment and dancing, is open until 9:00 p.m. in the Art Gallery Parking Lot, 1040 Moss Street.
