Eligibility:

• Must be born in 1989 or later
• Must have a CFC rating of >1800 or be a 2009 Provincial Junior Champion or submit a written application for permission to register (email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ). The application should give a summary of chess performance that indicates a past performance of equal to or near 1800. Applications will be reviewed by the Canadian Junior organizing committee and decisions will be made within 4 weeks of receipt.
• Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Canadian resident for at least 12 months. Failure to do so and not meeting the requirements could result in withdrawal from the tournament and/or ineligibility for awards.
• The total number of participants may be limited. Qualified players should register early to ensure a space.
