The Canadian Junior Chess Championship is a qualifier for the World Junior being held in Mar del Plata, Argentina from 16 to 29 October 2009.
Winner will receive funding toward travel to the World Junior. Value of contribution toward travel will depend on the number of participants and the funds available after expenses. Expenses for the event are being kept to a minimum and will be in accordance with the bid for the Canadian Junior. A travel contribution of $1500 is available based on 20 players registered.
